Req. ID:
JR103724 AI-Enabled Full Stack Developer - NCG
Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
We are looking for a full stack software engineer who builds modern applications using AI as a first class capability—both as part of the development workflow and as part of the systems we ship.
This role goes beyond simply using AI coding assistants. You will leverage custom agents, and integrations built around the Model Context Protocol (MCP). You will apply strong software engineering fundamentals to assemble, integrate, and operationalize AI capabilities into real production systems.
The goal of this role is to help accelerate development and feedback cycles by combining strong software engineering fundamentals with practical use of AI tools and AI-driven systems—while developing the judgment required to build reliable, maintainable production software.
Core software engineering
- Design, build, test, deploy, and operate full‑stack applications
- Own features end‑to‑end: system design, implementation, testing, observability, and lifecycle support
- Collaborate with business teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions
- Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, and shared engineering standards
AI‑centric application development
- Design and implement custom AI agents to support workflows such as:
- Task automation
- Decision support and summarization
- Multi‑step reasoning and tool‑driven execution
- Build and integrate systems using the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to enable:
- Structured context sharing between models, tools, and agents
- Tool and capability exposure to LLM‑based agents
- Interoperability across AI components without hard‑coded integrations
- Integrate applications with external and internal AI services (LLMs, embeddings, search, tools) via well‑designed APIs
- Harden AI components for 24x7 mission critical physical manufacturing systems with attention to:
- Reliability and resiliency
- Latency and performance
- Security, permissions, and data boundaries
- Observability and maintainability
- Utilize retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) systems
What we’re looking for
Core engineering skills and requirements
- Solid foundation in software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented design, code quality, and testing practices.
- Experience building and delivering production software through prior professional roles, internships, or substantial project work.
- Familiarity with backend or full-stack development, including API development and data persistence.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts, deployment workflows, and operational considerations.
- Understanding of system design concepts and how applications behave in production.
- Ability to work independently on defined tasks while collaborating effectively within a team.
- At least bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or a related field
- Fluent English communication skill.
Technologies you may encounter include modern backend frameworks (for example C#, ASP.NET), frontend frameworks (for example Angular), RESTful APIs, SQL and NoSQL databases, and container-based deployment environments.
AI-focused skills
- Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools as part of day-to-day software development.
- Hands-on experience contributing to or implementing AI agent–based capabilities, such as:
- Task automation
- Workflow orchestration
- Tool- and API-driven execution
- Understanding of AI agent fundamentals, including:
- Prompt construction and refinement
- Agent skills
- Managing context and inputs for reliable agent behavior
- Familiarity with agent frameworks or structured agent/tool interfaces (such as Model Context Protocol (MCP) or equivalent patterns).
- Experience integrating AI capabilities into applications beyond simple chat interfaces, including backend services and workflows.
- Working knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) concepts and how enterprise data is combined with AI reasoning.
- Awareness of common risks in AI-enabled systems, including incorrect outputs, hallucinations, and boundary enforcement.
- Ability to apply guidance and best practices related to permissions, data access, and guardrails in AI-powered features.
- Ability to monitor and evaluate system behavior over time.
