The Role
Responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of an advanced robotic fleet. This role focuses on high-precision mechanical assembly and digital communication networks, ensuring all hardware meets strict safety and performance specifications and collaboration with engineering teams to provide data and feedback.
You Will
Assemble and repair complex electromechanical systems including robot joints, internal motor components, and rope-driven systems.
Execute all tasks in strict accordance with safety protocols for mid-voltage electricity (~60V) and sensitive electronic components.
Interface with robot systems using basic command-line or terminal tools to identify hardware failures or communication errors.
Conduct comprehensive test sequences to verify the integrity of repairs and ensure sub-systems meet performance targets before the robot is cleared for operation.
Maintain detailed service records, documenting specific repairs, measurements, and root causes to assist with fleet-wide reliability tracking.
Operate within a structured environment, owning the validation of your work and escalating technical blockers through defined communication channels.
Maintain shop tools and fixtures to ensure the service center remains in peak operational condition.
Proven experience in a technical field such as robotics, aerospace maintenance, or advanced electromechanical repair.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions to perform complex repairs.
Experience with precision manual tasks, including fine crimping, terminal pinning, and torque-sensitive fastening.
Proficiency in using calibrated measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauge pins to verify mechanical tolerances.
Proficiency with basic electrical circuits and the use of diagnostic tools like multimeters for safety and continuity verification.
Basic command-line or terminal experience for running diagnostics, reviewing health reports, and interpreting system flags.
High-level hand-eye coordination and attention to detail required for handling small-scale cables and connectors within tight internal housings.
Strong troubleshooting instincts and the ability to follow logical, step-by-step processes to identify the root cause of failures.
Nice to Have
Experience with precision mechanical rigging, motor assembly, or digital communication networks.
Competency in basic wiring harness repair, including high-precision soldering.
Familiarity with safety standards for systems operating at or above 60V.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment and communicating technical issues effectively to cross-functional teams.
