About the role
Anthropic's Life Sciences team is looking for a Partnership Manager to be the day-to-day owner of our most strategic relationships - partnerships that pair Claude directly with biotech company formation and R&D. You'll be intimately involved in everything we do with our initial cohort of partners.
Each of these relationships has its own technical roadmap, its own metrics for success, and a wide set of internal and external stakeholders who need to be managed closely. Our initial partners are bringing real ambition and specificity to what they want to build with us — developing new skills, creating companies, and in some cases rethinking how biotech venture capital itself works. We need someone who can match that level of intensity and excellence as these partnerships kick off and move into execution over the next several months, owning each relationship end-to-end rather than negotiating an ambitious scope and then handing it off to a generalist GTM or Applied AI motion.
You'll be the connective tissue between our external partners and Anthropic's Bio research team, working closely with our research team to make sure the skills being developed across partnerships are mapped, shared, and reused, and that learning flows in both directions.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact and relationship owner for Anthropic's initial, and growing, set of partners, staying closely involved in the substance of each partnership rather than just its logistics.
- Own execution of each partnership's technical roadmap and success metrics, tracking progress against commitments and surfacing risks early.
- Manage the full set of internal and external stakeholders for each relationship, including technical leads, business sponsors, and executives on both sides.
- Act as the connective tissue between partners and Anthropic's Life Sciences research team, working closely with our research team to map the skills being developed across partnerships and ensure cross-functional learning.
- Help shape and negotiate the specifics of each partnership's scope — co-development of new skills, company co-creation structures, and novel deal constructs — and make sure that ambition survives the handoff into delivery.
- Build the operating rhythms, documentation, and internal processes needed to run high-touch partnerships well today, while laying the groundwork for a more scalable PiaP model as the program matures.
- Bring field signals back to the Life Sciences research team so that what we learn from individual partnerships improves our broader platform and approach.
Minimum qualifications
- Have experience managing complex, technical partnerships or business development relationships, ideally in biotech, pharma, or another scientifically intensive industry.
- Have strong scientific or technical fluency and can hold your own in detailed conversations about biotech R&D roadmaps.
- Have some experience with product development or product management, even if lightweight.
- Are comfortable owning a relationship end-to-end — from negotiating scope to running day-to-day delivery — rather than handing pieces off to other teams.
- Can manage multiple senior internal and external stakeholders simultaneously, with patience and clarity.
Preferred qualifications
- Thrive in ambiguity and enjoy building processes and operating models from scratch.
- Are excited by Anthropic's mission and the opportunity to help reinvent how biotech companies get built and resourced.
- Experience working directly with venture-backed biotech company creation or "company-builder" models.
- A track record of translating technical work into clear, structured documentation that others can build on.
