AI Engineer

About This Role
Centh AI is hiring a Founding AI Engineer to help design and build on the agent platform that sits on top of our customers' ATSs. You'll own large pieces of our architecture—from integrations and backend services to recruiter-facing workflows—and work directly with the founder and early customers. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role where you'll ship production systems, talk to recruiters, and see your work tied directly to real-world outcomes like faster hiring, better matches, and more revenue per recruiter.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement the core services and APIs that power Centh (jobs, candidates, assignments, agent runs)
- Build and own integrations with ATS platforms (authentication, data sync, webhooks or polling, error handling and resilience)
- Implement recruiter-facing UI for views like sourcing boards, shortlists, screening results and submissions
- Work with LLMs and tools to generate role-specific questions, run structured screens and draft candidate profiles or submissions
- Instrument the system with logging, monitoring and alerting so we can trust and debug what agents are doing
- Collaborate with the founder and AI Strategist to translate workflows into clear technical designs and iterations
- Join customer calls and demos to understand how teams really work and incorporate feedback quickly into the product
What We're Looking For
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building web or backend systems
- Experience taking projects or products from idea to working software in production (at a company, startup, or through serious personal projects)
- Comfort working with APIs and integrations and making different systems talk to each other
- Hands-on experience with LLMs or agents, or meaningful self-directed projects in this space
- Focus on impact, reliability and maintainability rather than one-off experiments
- Clear written and verbal communication, including working closely with non-engineers such as recruiters or ops leaders
- Excitement about joining a small, fast-moving team with high ownership and changing priorities
- Experience with staffing, recruiting, or ATS/CRM systems is a plus, not a requirement
