Slingshot AI
Slingshot AI is the team behind Ash, the first AI designed for mental health. Our mission is to make support more accessible and help people change their lives in the ways they want.
We’re building a world-class team by empowering individuals with the autonomy, flexibility, and support they need to do their best work. We dream big, iterate fast, and care deeply. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
Our team spans machine learning, product, engineering, conversational design, clinical, growth, and operations, with offices in both New York City and London.
We're a well-funded Series A company, having raised $93M from Andreessen Horowitz, Radical Ventures, Forerunner Ventures, plus top-tier tech investors involved in ElevenLabs, Captions, Shopify, Plaid, Notion, Canva, Twitch, Airtable, and many others.
The role
We're looking for a
Clinical Research Manager to own the operational backbone of our clinical research program. This is a research operations role — you'll be the person who keeps studies running on time, manages relationships with institutional partners, and ensures every protocol is executed with precision. You'll work at the intersection of digital health and clinical evidence generation, helping Slingshot AI build the rigorous evidence base needed to bring AI tools into clinical practice.
What You'll Do
- Run Studies End-to-End — Manage the operational execution of RCTs, pragmatic trials, and real-world evidence studies from site activation through closeout
- Manage Institutional Partnerships — Serve as the primary operational point of contact with your operational counterparts at academic medical centers, health systems, and research collaborators; manage contracts, timelines, and deliverables across partner sites
- Coordinate Across Teams — Work closely with research, engineering, and product, to ensure research protocols are feasible, on track, and aligned with product goals
- Oversee Regulatory & Compliance Operations — Manage IRB submissions, amendments, continuing reviews, and ensure ongoing compliance with GCP, HIPAA, and applicable regulatory guidance
- Drive Recruitment & Enrollment — Develop and execute participant recruitment strategies; track enrollment targets and troubleshoot site-level barriers
- Manage Research Vendors & Budgets — Oversee EDC platforms, data management, and study budgets; keep projects on scope and on budget
- Maintain Data Quality — Ensure rigorous, audit-ready data collection and management practices across all active studies
- Build Research Infrastructure — Develop SOPs, tracking systems, templates, and workflows that scale as the research program grows
About You
- 5+ years in clinical research operations, clinical trial management, or research program management
- Hands-on experience running RCTs and/or real-world evidence studies — you've managed timelines, sites, and IRBs, not just designed protocols
- Familiarity with digital health — you understand the unique challenges of evaluating software-based interventions in clinical settings
- Experience managing multi-site research partnerships with academic medical centers or health systems
- Strong knowledge of GCP/ICH, IRB processes, HIPAA, and regulatory considerations relevant to digital health
- Exceptional project management skills — you're the person who keeps 10 things moving and nothing falls through the cracks
- Clear, efficient communicator who can operate across technical and clinical stakeholders
- Experience with AI/ML
- Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., MPH, MS, or equivalent experience)
Bonus Points
- Experience with clinical validation of software-based tools
- Familiarity with FDA regulatory pathways for AI/ML products (De Novo, 510(k), pre-submissions)
- Background in pragmatic trial designs, adaptive trials, or decentralized/hybrid trial models
- Experience with EDC systems (REDCap, Medidata, etc.) and clinical data management platforms
- Prior experience at a startup or high-growth company where you’ve helped scale the research ops function from scratch
This role at Slingshot is a unique opportunity to do
high-impact work, be part of a highly
collaborative culture, and
grow alongside the clinical research function from an early stage.
