Overview:
Prelude is seeking a seasoned professional to source, research, and build relationships with a broad range of hedge funds and alternative investment managers. The ideal candidate is personable, professional, well-organized, and flexible, and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities
- Identify, diligence, and on-board hedge funds for our independent managed-account platform
- Structure allocations by strategy with a focus on risk and commercial term negotiation
- Effectively communicate Prelude’s strategy, value proposition, and structure to prospective managers
- Liaise with prime brokers, industry service providers, personal network, and other sources to identify potential investments. This includes regular travel within the US.
- Represent the firm at industry conferences and events
- Maintain ongoing relationships with current and prospective investment managers
Qualifications
- 6–12 years of hedge fund/capital markets experience from an investment bank (sales/trading, prime services, structured products) or directly at a hedge fund, fund-of-funds, multi-manager platform, or institutional allocator
- Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; strong organizational abilities; demonstrated intellectual rigor
- Technical understanding of various hedge fund and liquid alternative investment strategies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High organizational aptitude, time management, attention to detail, ability to multitask and strong work ethic
- Curiosity and adaptability in adopting new technologies, including AI tools, to enhance research, workflow efficiency, and communication
- Desire to grow and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment
