We are now looking for a Senior Software Engineer focused on Agentic AI for Science!
NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Research Software Engineer to join the Quantum & Chemistry group. As a member of our team, you will be part of the development effort of an AI for science agentic system. This work involves collaboration with domain scientists and AI scientists that will be carrying out research in agentic science. The agents will be used in a close collaboration with Eli Lilly and Company.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Designing and developing solutions for AI for science agents that integrate with the current NVIDIA agentic stack.
Collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver robust full-cycle solutions
Improving stability and performance across the agentic pipeline through architectural enhancements and code optimizations
Troubleshooting issues in distributed environments
Collaborating architects, DevOps engineers, product managers and partners to ensure high-quality releases
Participating in code reviews, technical design discussions, and continuous improvement activities within the team
What We Need to See:
B.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of hands-on experience in software development
Strong understanding of software design patterns, architectural principles, and standard methodologies in complex distributed systems
Experience with microservices architectures
Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines
Experience working with both Linux and Windows operating systems
Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking, with the ability to deliver high-quality code and resilient services
Strong debugging and solving capabilities in distributed systems or multi-node environments
Excellent communication skills and an ownership-driven approach
Experience in Agentic AI development
Proficiency with Pytorch and or Tensorflow as well as Python proficiency
Ways to Stand Out from the Crowd:
Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible)
Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized environments
Experience with scientific codes and high-performance computing.
Background with lab automation

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 152,000 USD - 241,500 USD for Level 3, and 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD for Level 4.
You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
