A multi-billion dollar financial institution is building an internal AI/ML team and is looking to hire an AI engineer.
Compensation range: $250k-350k.This role is based in New York City and is in-office.

The Role:
- The Company is seeking an exceptional AI/Machine Learning Engineer to help lead its internal AI efforts.
- Reporting to the Head of AI, this is a highly impactful and highly visible role with exposure to senior leadership.
- You will collaborate closely with the AI leadership team to deploy the systems and frameworks that will power the Company’s AI initiatives.
- The ideal candidate is a technically strong, business-minded engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead AI and data innovation across the firm in collaboration with key non-technical stakeholders
- Partner with leadership and investment professionals to identify and execute high-impact AI/ML opportunities
- Develop foundational AI/ML infrastructure and tools for scalable innovation
- Build advanced search functionality using retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and large language models
Experience & Skills
- 3+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on AI/Machine Learning
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
- Strong foundations in building scalable systems
- Experience developing, fine-tuning, and deploying NLP and/or computer vision models.
- Hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch, Hugging Face, or others.
- Excellent communication skills; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
