Role: Forward Deployed AI Engineer focused on building and deploying secure Generative AI systems for defense applications.
Responsibilities: Embed with strategic customers to identify problems and implement solutions; design, build, deploy, and operate AI systems in cloud, on-prem, and air-gapped environments; prototype and improve products based on field insights; lead solution delivery, define roadmaps, and create reusable deployment patterns; serve as the technical liaison to customer leadership, ensuring clear communication and successful adoption.
Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience, preferably in customer-facing or high-assurance environments.
- Proficiency in Python or TypeScript, designing APIs, data pipelines, and backend frameworks.
- Knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI fundamentals.
- Strong communication skills, ability to work in ambiguity, and a mission-driven mindset.
Nice to Have: Experience with Kubernetes, secure deployment environments, information retrieval, open-source LLMs, and inference frameworks.
