The Role
You'll work on taking the latest advances in foundation models and turning them into production systems that solve difficult real-world problems.
This isn't an experimentation role. You'll own systems from research through deployment, collaborating directly with customers and domain experts to build AI that is used every day.
You'll have significant autonomy, broad ownership and the opportunity to influence both technical direction and product strategy.
What You'll Work On
Build production AI systems
- Design and deploy applications powered by frontier LLMs and reasoning models.
- Build intelligent agentic workflows for complex operational environments.
- Develop robust retrieval, evaluation and orchestration pipelines.
Own the engineering
- Design scalable ML infrastructure and data pipelines.
- Optimise models for latency, cost and quality.
- Ship production systems that are reliable, observable and continuously improving.
Solve genuinely difficult problems
Projects may include:
- Modernising government services through AI automation.
- Improving clinical workflows across healthcare systems.
- Optimising critical infrastructure and energy operations.
- Building entirely new AI capabilities for organisations operating at national scale.
You'll work on problems where the constraints are real, the datasets are messy and the impact is measurable.
Work closely with customers
You'll collaborate directly with senior stakeholders, engineers and operators to understand complex workflows and translate them into deployable AI systems.
Rather than throwing models over the wall, you'll help shape products from first principles through production deployment.
We're Looking For
You don't need to tick every box, but strong candidates will likely have:
- A strong computer science, machine learning or related technical background.
- Experience building production GenAI applications.
- Experience with technologies such as:
- LLMs
- Agent frameworks
- RAG systems
- Reasoning models
- Evaluation frameworks
- Strong software engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with PyTorch, JAX or TensorFlow.
- Excellent systems thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Comfort moving quickly, owning ambiguity and shipping end-to-end.
