As a Strategic Analytics Lead within the Risk Team, you will lead the analytics team and providing recommendations concerning strategy development, implementation, operational controls, and performance monitoring.
Job responsibilities
Develop, enhance, and maintain analytics that provide management with clear visibility into emerging trends, portfolio performance, and the quality of originated accounts.
Attain a detailed understanding of key performance metrics, risk indicators, and profitability drivers, enabling delivery of actionable insights across the account lifecycle.
Apply advanced analytical techniques, including machine learning and AI/LLM-based tools where appropriate, to support risk identification, trend analysis, and forecasting.
Partner with senior team members and governance functions to ensure analytical approaches, models, and AI-driven insights are appropriately controlled, documented, and aligned with internal standards.
Develop a working understanding of operational processes (e.g., underwriting, portfolio management, and transaction flows) to better assess portfolio behavior.
Translate complex data into clear, concise insights and recommendations; prepare materials suitable for management-level presentations and risk discussions.
Support cross-functional initiatives with Product, Technology, and Risk partners, contributing analytics and insights to inform strategic decisions.
Conduct ad hoc analyses and deep dives into portfolio trends, emerging risks, or business questions, providing practical recommendations to Risk Management.
Contribute to maintaining strong data quality and governance standards to ensure reliability and consistency of reporting and analytics.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Bachelors degree in finance or economics or quantitative
- Minimum 5 years Risk Management or other quantitative experience required
- Background in statistics, econometric, or other quantitative field required
- Advanced understanding of SAS, SQL and AI/LLM
- Ability to query large amounts of data and transform the raw data into actionable management information
- Familiarity with risk analytic techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience delivering recommendations to management
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- MS degree and 5 year Risk Management or other quantitative experience preferred
