About PressW
PressW is where some of the world's most ambitious companies come to actually ship AI.
We're redefining how businesses harness AI by building real systems for real clients, not just selling slides about what's possible. We're a team of three exited AI founders and a group of Applied AI Engineers based in Austin, and we've been heads-down for the last few years building this firm into something we're proud of: more than 70 production AI solutions shipped, 40+ clients across seven industries, and over $50M in measurable profit gains delivered. We work on the bleeding edge of what AI can do, guide our clients to the right solutions for their business, and ship the infrastructure they run on.
We sell across three divisions. Managed AI is our MSP, purpose-built for institutional investors: private equity firms, venture capital funds, asset managers, and capital markets clients. We map how a firm actually works, deploy custom agents into the workflows that consume deal teams' time (reading deal documents, drafting IC memos, scoring targets, triaging inbound, structuring offers, monitoring portfolio companies), and keep evolving those systems as models and firm needs change. AI Engineering embeds our teams directly with clients to build and harden production AI systems. AI Transformation handles roadmap and readiness work, helping leaders figure out what to build, in what order, and how to prepare for it.
About the Role
This role isn't about helping firms adopt AI. It's about reimagining how some of the sharpest investors in the world actually work, and being the person who designs and builds the systems that change it.
The AI Strategist on our Managed AI team is the strategic owner of our institutional investor accounts. You sit with managing partners, deal team leads, and analysts and figure out what to build next: what should be reimagined, what should be automated, what shouldn't be touched yet. You build skills and prototypes directly in Claude, iterate live with deal teams as they use them, and ship into production with our engineering team behind you.
The scope of this role is larger than "help a firm adopt AI." These firms are reorganizing themselves around what AI can actually do, and you're in the room while they figure it out. You'll be instrumental in driving real adoption (hours back, deals reviewed, decisions made faster) across some of the most influential investors in the world.
And you'll get to chase the second-order effects that come next. When an analyst's week opens up by 30 hours, what does a deal team start doing differently? When a fund automates diligence, what new strategies become possible? When the org chart shifts because the work has shifted, what's the next thing worth building? You'll see those effects across multiple firms before anyone else does, and you'll bring what you learn back to the rest of our practice.
You're not a deck-writer. You bring proof, not slides.
In This Role, You Will
Sit with deal teams at our institutional investor clients, hear what's slow or broken, and start building with them. Iterate quickly as they use what you make.
Build skills and prototypes directly in Claude. Hand them off to our engineering team to harden into production once they prove out.
Run discovery with new and existing accounts. Audit how a firm actually works, map their data sources and integrations, interview principals and analysts, and identify the next high-leverage thing to build.
Scope and sequence new work end-to-end. Co-author proposals. Translate executive ambition into work our engineers can execute.
Drive adoption across these firms, measured in hours saved, workflows automated, and AI usage growing quarter over quarter.
Chase the second-order effects of what you ship: how teams reorganize around AI, what new strategies open up, where the next high-leverage build lives.
Build our reusable playbooks for the investor world. Help us scale what we learn.
Be public-facing: writing, posting, speaking on behalf of our practice.
What Year One Looks Like
You own a portfolio of institutional investor accounts and grow them measurably, on revenue and on the AI surface area we've deployed.
Adoption inside those firms compounds: more workflows automated, more users active, more hours unlocked.
The skills and prototypes you ship hit quantifiable returns inside 90 days.
You build our reusable playbooks for the investor world (agent patterns, value frameworks, sector points of view) that the rest of the firm pulls from.
You become a public face of our point of view: writing, posting, speaking.
You'll Thrive Here If You
Have a track record shipping AI work to production as the person making the calls. We're open on level (senior individual contributor through head-of caliber); we hire for the person.
Are hands-on with Claude in the last 12 months: building skills, prototypes, and agentic workflows. You build, not just opine.
Have strong opinions on when an agent is the right pattern and when it isn't.
Come from one of these shapes: founder or operator who shipped an AI product, forward-deployed engineer or solutions architect at an AI-native company, senior product manager or head of AI inside an enterprise, or a consulting strategist who ran discovery and delivered to executives.
Are curious about how institutional investors work. You don't need to come from finance, but you should be excited to learn how a deal team's week actually comes together and where AI can change it.
Communicate with executive presence. You can hold the room with a managing partner or chief investment officer.
Are willing to travel to client sites (about once or twice a month) and to be public-facing.
Are based in Central Time. Austin preferred.
Strong Nice-to-Haves
Direct experience inside a private equity firm, VC, asset manager, family office, or other institutional investor.
Experience selling or serving institutional investors at firms like FactSet, Bloomberg, PitchBook, AI-for-finance startups, or Big 4 deal advisory.
A track record building an AI strategy function from zero to one.
An existing platform or audience on the investor-AI beat.
If you're reading this and unsure whether your background fits, apply anyway. We hire for the person, and we've taken on people who didn't check every box.
