The Director, Technical AI Product Manager is a hands-on leader responsible for driving the design, development, and delivery of AI-powered solutions within Marriott’s Primary Use Case Pods. This role combines deep technical expertise with modern product management practices to create scalable, human-centered AI products that deliver measurable business impact.
The Director leads cross-functional teams of data scientists, engineers, and designers to identify automation opportunities, optimize processes, and implement solutions leveraging RPA, traditional AI, and generative AI. Acting as a trusted technical liaison to business stakeholders, this leader ensures alignment between product vision and enterprise objectives while championing responsible AI principles throughout the development lifecycle.
By fostering a culture of experimentation, iterative development, and data-driven decision-making, the Director accelerates Marriott’s AI transformation and ensures solutions are innovative, ethical, and user-focused.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams of researchers, data scientists, designers, and engineers to design, build, and release AI solutions.
- Drive process evaluation and design initiatives, and work as a SME who identifies tasks and processes that can be automated, offering direction as to the right tool for the job whether that be RPA, traditional AI, or generative AI.
- Engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, serving as a credible technical liaison to business stakeholders across the global enterprise.
- Utilize modern, Silicon Valley-style product practices to create PRDs, epics, user stories, and detailed product requirements.
- Implement iterative experimentation and test-and-learn approaches to software development.
- Conduct field research to deeply understand user problems and design human-first solutions.
- Ensure adherence to AI ethics and responsible AI practices.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ of experience in leading scrum teams to deliver scaled, user-centered software solutions that move KPIs, with 3-5 years in RPA, AI/ML, or generative AI products.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, or related fields is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, data engineering, and software development methodologies.
- Familiarity with and champion of AI ethics and responsible AI practices.
- Experience in using AI to automate product work. Desire to work with AI Studio leaders in experimenting with the same.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, or related fields is highly preferred.
- Experience working in the hospitality industry or related field.
