WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT FOR US
The cost of producing a high quality first draft of almost any product artifact has collapsed. The teams and companies that recognize this and staff for it will move several times faster than those that don't. We are creating this role because we believe velocity is now the primary determinant of whether good strategy translates into market impact. We need people who embody that belief in how they work every day.
As a global leader in our space, SimCorp is transforming from a traditional enterprise software provider into a SaaS business while sustaining strong, profitable growth. Aligning with this transformation, we are moving to an AI accelerated product development model
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're creating a new role that doesn't fit the traditional product manager or engineer mold. The AI Product Solution Principal fuses product, design, and engineering into a single way of working. Not three hats worn by one person. One craft. The mandate is simple. Take any product or solution problem and ship the first 60% using AI, in days or weeks rather than months.
This role exists because the velocity at which products can be built has fundamentally changed. The bottleneck is no longer specification, design, or implementation in the traditional sense. The bottleneck is having senior people who can think like a product manager, design like a designer, and build like an engineer, all at once, with AI as their primary leverage.
This is not about writing docs or coordinating teams. It is about owning a problem from insight to working solution, in small AI native teams, with minimal handoffs.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Compress product cycles. Replace multi week scoping workshops with working artifacts. Where teams would historically run two week sessions to write standards documents, you sit down and build the interactive web app, the structured spec, or the working prototype in a single session.
- Ship the first 60% of any solution. Take ambiguous product problems and produce real, tangible output fast. Working prototypes, interactive specs, scoped solutions, populated standards. The output is meant to be 60% complete and 100% directionally correct, so the remaining 40% becomes a focused engineering effort rather than open ended discovery.
- Translate strategy into something real. Sit with senior product and engineering leaders, absorb strategic intent, and convert it into concrete artifacts (working prototypes, scoping documents, decision frameworks, populated models) that unblock teams immediately.
- Run AI as your primary tool. Use Claude Code, agentic workflows, and frontier model capabilities natively. You don't request engineering help to scan a codebase, build a prototype, or generate a structured analysis. You do it yourself.
- Operate across the SimCorp ONE portfolio. Embed temporarily with teams that need acceleration. Standards work, scoping artefacts, product specs, data model definition, integration patterns. Wherever the bottleneck is, you go and clear it. Rotation across domains is expected and encouraged.
WHO YOU ARE
- Hybrid by instinct. You think like a product manager about user value and business outcomes. You think like a designer about how the solution fits the user. You think like an engineer about what is buildable and how fast. None of these is your primary identity. The fusion is.
- AI native. You don't just use AI tools. You have internalized how to decompose problems for AI leverage, when to use which model or pattern, and how to validate AI output critically. You have a portfolio of work that was meaningfully accelerated or built with AI.
- Builder mindset. You produce working artifacts, not memos. Your default response to a hard problem is to build a working version of the answer, not to write about it.
- Comfortable with ambiguity. You take vague strategic direction and convert it into a working product without needing a fully formed brief. You ask sharp questions, make defensible assumptions, and move.
- Senior judgement. You know when 60% is enough to unblock a decision and when 95% is required. You know which problems benefit from AI acceleration and which require deeper craft. You know when to hand off and when to keep building.
- Domain agnostic, domain curious. You don't need years of investment management background. You need the ability to ramp on a domain quickly using AI as a learning accelerator. The strongest candidates often come from outside the industry.
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT
- Not a traditional product manager. You build, you don't just specify.
- Not a traditional engineer. You think about user value and product strategy as a first-class concern.
- Not an AI researcher. You apply existing AI capabilities pragmatically. You're not training models or publishing papers.
- Not a consultant. You ship into the product organization. Your work goes into production paths, not slide decks.
