Foundation Model Researcher

BioTalent are partnered with a cutting-edge AI research organisation is seeking Foundation Model Researchers and Engineers to help develop next-generation large language and multimodal AI systems.
The team is focused on building advanced AI models capable of integrating language, scientific data, structured information, and simulation-based learning across complex technical domains.
The role
You’ll work on both foundational research and production-scale implementation across large-scale AI systems.
Projects may include:
- Large-scale LLM pre-training and optimisation
- Distributed and parallel model training
- Reinforcement learning and post-training techniques
- Multimodal learning systems
- Retrieval and reasoning workflows
- Training and inference optimisation at scale
This is a highly collaborative environment involving close interaction with researchers, engineers, and infrastructure specialists.
What they’re looking for
- Strong experience working with LLMs or foundation models
- Deep understanding of modern AI architectures
- Expertise in large-scale training systems and distributed infrastructure
- Excellent Python and ML engineering skills
- Strong research or applied AI background
- Experience with multimodal learning is beneficial
Experience within scientific or computational domains is helpful but not required.
