The ChatGPT Ads team is responsible for building sustainable advertising experiences that help hundreds of millions of people around the world access and derive increasing value from ChatGPT. We work across the advertising ecosystem, including advertiser products, monetization surfaces, relevance, measurement, and user experience.
Within Ads, the team focuses on building thoughtful, high-quality advertising experiences that create value for users, advertisers, and the broader ChatGPT ecosystem.
About the Role
We’re looking for a product manager to lead Ads product strategy and execution for ChatGPT.
As ChatGPT becomes a daily product for consumers and businesses, advertising will play an important role in enabling sustainable growth while maintaining a high-quality user experience. This role is about defining how ads can be introduced in ways that are useful, relevant, and aligned with user trust. You’ll help shape the ads vision, develop new monetization surfaces and formats, and partner across product, engineering, research, sales, and policy teams to build a durable ads platform for the AI era.
This role is ideal for a strategic, user-centric, execution-oriented PM who is excited about building entirely new advertising paradigms for conversational and agentic AI products.
In this role, you will:
Drive the strategy and roadmap for ads and monetization experiences across ChatGPT
Define new ad formats, targeting approaches, and measurement capabilities designed for conversational AI
Build products and systems that balance user experience, advertiser value, and long-term ecosystem health
Partner closely with engineering, design, research, policy, legal, and GTM teams to launch new monetization capabilities
Develop frameworks for ad relevance, quality, trust, and safety
Use experimentation, analytics, and user research to improve monetization outcomes while maintaining a high-quality user experience
Shape how advertisers and partners engage with emerging AI-native surfaces and workflows
Help establish foundational product principles for advertising in AI systems
You might thrive in this role if you:
Have 10+ years of product management experience across ads, monetization, marketplaces, or growth products
Have experience building consumer or platform products at scale
Have strong product intuition and care deeply about user trust and experience quality
Are highly analytical and comfortable using experimentation and data to drive product strategy
Thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with rapidly evolving products and technology
Enjoy working cross-functionally across engineering, design, data science, research, sales, marketing, legal, and policy
Are excited about defining the future of advertising and monetization for AI-native products
Have experience with ads ranking, targeting, measurement, auction systems, or advertiser platforms (preferred but not required)
