About the Role
We’re looking for a Junior AI Engineer to help us improve how our AI systems think, respond, and support learners. This is a part-time, remote role for a Junior AI Engineer working in the EdTech / VR & AR space.
This isn’t a research role. You’ll be building real features that ship to users. Focusing on making AI outputs more accurate, structured, and useful inside interactive learning environments. You’ll have a lot of ownership early on. We’ll give you direction and context, but you should be comfortable figuring things out, running with ideas, and improving systems without constant oversight.
About Us
At Uplift Aerospace (Symbol: NRPI) we’re building immersive learning experiences at the intersection of AI and VR/AR. Helping students learn in ways that actually stick. Our goal is simple: create tools that make a real difference in how people understand and interact with the world.
What You’ll Work On
- Improving AI tools used in immersive learning experiences (VR/AR)
- Designing and refining prompts for better accuracy and consistency
- Building and maintaining context pipelines (retrieval, embeddings, context handling)
- Creating structured outputs (JSON, schemas, validation layers)
- Developing evaluation systems to measure and improve AI quality
- Analyzing outputs and debugging issues using tracing tools
- Helping ship end-to-end AI features into production
What You Should Be Comfortable With
- Writing solid Python (clean, modular code)
- Git and version control practices
- Building and working with APIs (FastAPI or similar)
- Core LLM concepts:
- Evaluations
- Prompt engineering
- RAG (retrieval + embeddings)
- Tools/agents and function calling
- Agentic frameworks like Pydantic-AI or LangGraph
- Working with data and running simple analysis and A/B testing
Bonus Points If You’ve Used
- LLM tracing/observability tools like Logfire, LangSmith, or Langfuse
- Docker or similar tools for deploying apps
How You Work
- You’re self-directed and don’t need step-by-step instructions
- You can take a goal and figure out how to execute
- You’re comfortable experimenting, measuring results, and iterating
- You care about building things that actually help users
Why This Role Is Interesting
- You’ll work on AI products that directly impacts how students learn
- You’ll gain real experience building and shipping AI systems—not just prototypes
- You’ll have meaningful ownership early and see your work in production
If you’re excited about AI, education, and building things that matter, we’d love to hear from you.
