This role focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence across the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to transform how digital products are designed, built, tested, and deployed. You will partner with executive-level client stakeholders to define product strategies and lead the adoption of AI-driven approaches that improve engineering velocity, product quality, and delivery outcomes.
As a Principal AI Product Manager, you will act as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them integrate AI into their product development processes, from ideation and requirements definition through engineering, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization. You will lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact products while embedding AI-powered practices into modern software delivery.
Responsibilities
- Partner with senior stakeholders to define product strategies that incorporate AI-driven enhancements across the SDLC, improving speed, quality, and scalability of product delivery
- Lead the integration of AI capabilities into product development workflows, including AI-assisted coding, requirements generation, test automation, and DevOps optimization
- Translate business and product needs into requirements that leverage AI tools to enhance engineering productivity, code quality, and delivery efficiency
- Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and data teams to implement AI-enabled development practices, such as code generation tools (e.g., copilots), automated documentation, and intelligent debugging
- Drive adoption of AI in quality engineering, including automated test case generation, defect prediction, and continuous testing strategies
- Identify opportunities to embed AI into CI/CD pipelines, enabling smarter build, release, and monitoring processes, including incident detection and root cause analysis
- Facilitate prioritization decisions that balance business value with engineering efficiency gains enabled by AI tools and automation
- Oversee Agile product delivery, ensuring alignment between roadmap, backlog, and AI-augmented development workflows
- Establish metrics to measure success, including improvements in developer productivity, cycle time, defect rates, and release velocity
- Guide clients in adopting best practices for responsible and effective use of AI in software engineering, including governance, risk management, and tool selection
- Mentor teams on modern product management practices that incorporate AI into the SDLC, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in product management, business analysis, or related roles, with a strong track record of delivering enterprise software products
- Experience working in consulting environments and leading client engagements focused on digital product delivery
- Deep understanding of modern SDLC practices, including Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD, with experience improving software delivery performance
- Experience leveraging AI tools across the software development lifecycle, including:
- AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Amazon CodeWhisperer, Cursor, Replit Ghostwriter) to accelerate coding and engineering workflows
- LLM platforms and APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Vertex AI) for prototyping and integrating AI capabilities into development processes
- Prompt engineering and experimentation tools (e.g., PromptLayer, LangChain, LlamaIndex) to design, test, and optimize AI-assisted workflows
- AI-enabled testing and QA tools (e.g., Testim, Mabl, Diffblue, or similar) for automated test generation and quality assurance
- AI-powered DevOps and observability tools (e.g., Datadog AIOps, Dynatrace, New Relic AI) for monitoring, incident detection, and performance optimization
- Familiarity with emerging AI capabilities in engineering workflows, including code generation, automated documentation, intelligent debugging, and test case generation
- Ability to evaluate and select AI tools based on use case fit, scalability, security, and integration with existing development ecosystems
- Experience defining and tracking success metrics related to AI adoption in SDLC, such as developer productivity, cycle time reduction, defect rates, and deployment frequency
- Proficiency with product and delivery tools (e.g., Jira) and experience working closely with engineering teams
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong business acumen and ability to articulate the value of AI-driven improvements in software delivery performance
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide teams in adopting AI-enabled development practices, fostering a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement
- Passion for staying current with emerging trends in AI for software engineering, developer experience (DevEx), and product delivery transformation
