JOB SUMMARY: Primary responsibilities include the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of AI-powered tools and automation systems to support business operations across departments. This position will focus on building intelligent solutions that streamline quoting, engineering, and financial workflows. The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities, develop AI models and data pipelines, and ensure secure, scalable implementation. This role is part of the AI and Systems Development team and is expected to contribute to the broader digital transformation strategy of the organization.

Design and implement AI-powered tools and automation workflows to improve operational efficiency.
Develop and maintain data pipelines and APIs integrating AI models with internal systems (e.g., QAD, SharePoint, SQL databases).
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, prototype solutions, and iterate based on user feedback.
Deploy and support AI tools in production environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
Document technical designs, workflows, and user guides to support adoption and training.
Monitor AI tool performance and continuously improve accuracy, speed, and usability.
Contribute to the development of AI governance, best practices, and internal standards for responsible AI use.
Stay current with emerging AI technologies and recommend new tools or approaches to enhance business capabilities.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Provide backup support to other system developers and engineers as needed.
Performs other duties when required that are outside of normal job duties.
QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
3 or more years of experience in software development, data engineering, or AI/ML application development.
Proficiency in Python and experience with AI/ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
Experience with SQL databases, data modeling, and ETL pipelines.
Familiarity with Microsoft ecosystem (e.g., Power Platform, Copilot, SharePoint, Azure).
Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., QAD) and quoting or manufacturing workflows.
Familiarity with AI agent development (e.g., Copilot Studio, prompt engineering).
Experience deploying AI tools in secure, on-premise environments (e.g., ChatKTC).
Knowledge of ITAR compliance and data governance best practices.
Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and cloud-based deployment models.
Experience with Git/GitHub and version control best practices.
Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish, Vietnamese, and/or Chinese.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The environment is fast-paced; time pressured, and requires accuracy. The normal environment is quiet and typical of an open cubical setting with some areas that may be louder at times.
