Leidos has a career opening for an AI Developer (Agentic Systems Focus).
Overview
The evolving cyber landscape requires rapid development of advanced capabilities to support Computer Network Operations (CNO). The Leidos Office of Technology, supporting the Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA), is seeking an AI-first Developer to design and deliver next-generation, AI-driven solutions for cyber research and development.
This role centers on building agentic AI systems—autonomous, goal-directed software that can reason, plan, and execute complex tasks in support of vulnerability research and reverse engineering workflows. The selected candidate will operate at the intersection of AI engineering and cyber operations, developing multi-agent systems that accelerate analysis, automate workflows, and enhance decision-making.
This is not a traditional development role. It requires designing AI-native architectures, orchestrating tool-using agents, and rapidly iterating on prototypes that demonstrate operational impact. The ideal candidate combines hands-on experience with agentic frameworks and modern AI tooling with a strong focus on delivering functional, outcome-driven systems.
Primary Responsibilities
Support one or more of the following areas:
- Design and implement agentic AI systems to automate vulnerability research and reverse engineering workflows
- Develop and orchestrate multi-agent architectures capable of planning, tool use, and iterative reasoning
- Integrate LLMs and AI services into full-stack applications for cyber use cases
- Build rapid prototypes and proof-of-concept systems demonstrating AI-driven CNO capabilities
- Apply security and networking knowledge to guide AI system behavior and outputs
- Explore and operationalize emerging AI techniques for cyber applications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years experience in a technical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field). Additional years experience may be used in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience applying AI/ML to software development or cyber use cases
Experience in at least three of the following:
- Development of agentic AI systems, including planning, memory, tool use, and multi-step reasoning workflows
- Experience with AI development platforms and tools (e.g., Claude Code, Gemini, Codex, Copilot, or similar)
- Proficiency in Python and/or C/C++ for building AI-integrated applications
- Experience integrating APIs, tools, and external data sources into AI-driven workflows
- Understanding of reverse engineering principles across software, firmware, or hardware
- Familiarity with vulnerability research methodologies, including fuzzing
- Knowledge of network programming and protocols
- U.S. citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance
- Experience designing production-grade agent workflows (e.g., orchestration, evaluation, guardrails, observability)
- Familiarity with vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and memory systems
- Experience with signal and protocol analysis tools
- Understanding of advanced networking and communications systems
- Experience with virtualization and emulation technologies
