Job Title: AI Engineer
Location: New York (Soho Hybrid 3 days a week)

Pay: Base salary $100 000 – $175 000 depending on experience. Plus 60% bonus and 0.1% Equity. This role is for a 6-month contract, with the opportunity to convert to a full-time employee.
Overview:
We are partnering with a high growth global FinTech that recently secured Series A funding and is now scaling rapidly.
They build AI powered automation for investment banks and asset managers. These are the workflows investment teams normally spend days completing: credit memos, portfolio reviews, DDQs, ESG analysis, investment committee preparation. With their platform, these workflows run in minutes.
Their mission is simple. Finance professionals should focus on decisions, not manual work.
The Role
This role sits at the intersection of AI engineering, product and institutional finance. Think Forward Deployed AI Engineer meets Senior Product Owner.
You will join the founding Product group and work directly with end users inside top tier banks and asset managers. Your responsibility is to understand how investment teams make decisions and translate that into end to end AI workflows that pull data, structure it and generate outputs investment committees rely on.
This is forward deployed work. You will be embedded with customers and shaping the product within their workflows. You move quickly, learn from real world usage and iterate in production. Requirements will evolve and ambiguity is expected, but when the solution lands, a process that once took days becomes fully automated.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, moves fast and enjoys solving high stakes problems with technology.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Education Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field such as Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, Mathematics or Engineering. Advanced degree is a plus.
Technical Strength Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with familiarity in machine learning models, data pipelines or AI powered products.
Artificial Intelligence Genuine interest in generative AI and emerging AI technologies.
Institutional Finance Background Experience within leading investment firms or global financial institutions, or experience building products used by major private equity, asset management or FTSE level enterprises.
Credit and Investment Acumen Experience writing credit memos, supporting investment committee decisions or working within investment workflows.
Forward Deployed Mindset Comfortable embedding with customers, solving real world problems and iterating in production.
Enterprise Product Ownership Experience building or scaling data or AI products with measurable client outcomes.
Bonus Experience
• ESG, climate or sustainability frameworks (SFDR, TCFD, EU Taxonomy)
• LLMs, RAG systems, geospatial analytics or graph databases
