The Opportunity
BrandMultiplier helps founder-led B2B companies ($3M–$50M ARR) solve one of the hardest scaling problems in business: getting the founder's story, conviction, and selling logic out of their head and into the hands of their team, their marketing, and their market.
We do this through a proven proprietary methodology backed by cognitive science, combined with AI-powered systems that we build and deploy for our clients. We're a profitable, growing services business actively building toward a platform model—and we're looking for the technical leader to own that build.
The Head of AI & Engineering will own BrandMultiplier's entire technical function: building and evolving our proprietary AI platform, leading internal engineering, and serving as the technical voice at the leadership table alongside the CEO, Growth Strategist, and Operations Manager.
This isn't a blank canvas. We've done the strategic and architectural thinking—there's a detailed product plan, a multi-agent AI architecture, and systems already running in production. What's missing is the technical leader who can pressure-test that plan, optimize the build approach, and execute it with speed and precision—while bringing innovations and efficiencies we haven't considered. You'll work directly with our CEO and a tight core leadership team to turn a strong plan into a shipped platform.
We don't need someone who can code. We need someone who's obsessed with what's possible—who comes to leadership meetings with ideas we haven't thought of, tools we haven't seen, and approaches that change the economics of what we're building.

The Team You're Joining
BrandMultiplier's core operating team is four people. You'd be the fourth:
- CEO / Founder:Creative systems architect. Sets vision, builds methodology, drives strategy, content, and production. Your primary collaborator for translating ideas into technical reality.
- Growth Strategist:Owns go-to-market strategy, pipeline engineering, and growth systems. Your strategic counterpart—you'll build what the growth strategy requires.
- Operations Manager:Runs delivery, proposals, client communications, and operational systems. Your bridge to client-facing execution and process.
- AI Engineer (reports to you):Strong engineering aptitude, earlier in career. Needs experienced technical leadership to channel his skills and accelerate his output. Your first direct report.
This is a small team that moves fast, holds high standards, and operates with direct communication. If you thrive in environments where your work is visible, your ideas matter, and your impact is immediate, this is that environment.
What You'll Own
Proprietary AI Platform
We're building an AI-powered platform that operationalizes our methodology into scalable, deployable systems for clients. The platform uses multi-agent AI architecture, integrates with major LLM providers, and combines proprietary intelligence with API-first design.
The architecture isn't a napkin sketch—we have a detailed product plan and technical specification already in place. Pieces of the platform are already in active internal use. We build iteratively—component by component, client by client—using existing platforms where strong ones exist, and building custom where our IP demands it.
Your job is to take the existing plan, bring your expertise to make it better and more efficient, and own the execution. You'll identify where we can ship faster, where we should buy instead of build, and where modern AI tooling compresses what would traditionally take months into weeks.
Internal AI Systems & Automation
We run internal AI tools and automation systems for content intelligence, prospecting, and operational efficiency. These systems are live and in daily use. You'll own their continued evolution—improving reliability, output quality, and the team's operational leverage.
Technical Team Leadership
You'll lead our AI Engineer and own the technical function as it grows. As BrandMultiplier scales, this role grows into VP Engineering or CTO—with the title, equity, and scope to match.
Innovation & Technical Strategy
You'll be the team's technical scout and creative catalyst—evaluating new AI models, tools, APIs, and frameworks. You translate frontier developments into practical advantages: e.g. "This new capability does X. If we connect it to Y, we can do Z for clients at a fraction of the current cost."
First 90 Days
Days 1–30:
Onboard to our methodology, review the existing platform architecture and technical specifications. Audit current systems and codebase. Build a working relationship with your AI Engineer direct report. Pressure-test the existing build plan and deliver your assessment: what's solid, what should change, and how to execute most efficiently.
Days 31–60:
Ship measurable improvements to our internal AI systems. Begin executing the refined build plan against our first platform-tier client engagement. Establish working rhythms with the core leadership team. Start unlocking your direct report's potential through clearer direction and technical mentorship.
Days 61–90:
First client build sprint in progress with tangible deliverables. Internal systems demonstrably more efficient. Direct report operating with noticeably higher output and confidence. Technical expansion plan drafted for the next 6 months.
Technical Requirements
Must-Have
- Full-stack development proficiency: modern frontends (React/Next.js/TypeScript), production backends (Python and/or Node.js), database design (SQL + NoSQL), cloud infrastructure and DevOps (preferably AWS — deployment, CI/CD, monitoring, scaling)
- Deep, production-level experience building with LLMs: multi-agent orchestration, RAG systems (vector databases, embedding workflows, chunking strategies, retrieval logic), prompt engineering, tool-calling frameworks (e.g. LangChain/LangGraph), model evaluation, and API integration across providers (Claude, GPT, Gemini)
- AI-native workflow: you use AI development tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot) as force multipliers in your own work. You ship faster because of them
- API-first architecture mindset: you know when to build custom vs. when to integrate existing platforms, and you optimize for speed-to-value
- System architecture: ability to design scalable, maintainable platforms that evolve iteratively. You think in systems, not scripts
- Automation and integration: experience with workflow automation (n8n, Make, Zapier), API design, and connecting disparate SaaS tools into coherent systems
- Technical leadership: you've managed or mentored at least one engineer and you know how to set direction, review work, and develop someone's skills while maintaining velocity
- Shipping discipline: you've deployed production systems that real users depend on. You understand monitoring, error handling, and the difference between a demo and a product
Strong Preference
- Experience building and orchestrating end-to-end LLM pipelines in production environments, including custom AI automations beyond simple API wrappers
- Familiarity with caching mechanisms (e.g. Redis) and performance optimization for scalable AI systems
- Experience in B2B SaaS or services-to-software transitions
- Familiarity with content and marketing technology stacks (CMS, marketing automation, social APIs, CRM integration)
- Experience building AI agent architectures with tool use, planning, and memory
- Track record of scoping MVPs—knowing what to build now, what to defer, and when to buy instead of build
- Comfort with ambiguity and startup-stage constraints
Nice-to-Have
- Background in cognitive science, behavioral science, or NLP research
- Experience with social platform APIs or social listening tools
- Prior experience as a fractional CTO, founding engineer, or technical co-founder
Who You Are
Beyond the technical checklist, this is what actually matters:
- You're a creative catalyst, not just an executor. You bring ideas to the table unprompted. You see a new tool, model, or technique and immediately think about how it applies to what we're building. Your energy sounds like: "Have you seen this? What if we did this with that?"
- You translate between vision and implementation. You can take a non-technical founder's description of an outcome and turn it into a technical spec, a build plan, and a shipped product—without needing everything pre-defined.
- You're autonomous and proactive. You don't wait for tickets. You see what needs to happen, communicate your plan, and execute. You treat the technical function as your business within the business.
- You develop the people around you.You don't just build systems—you build the capabilities of your team. You take an eager but inexperienced engineer and help them become excellent.
- You have big-frontier energy. You feel the urgency of the AI moment. You understand that the companies building now will define the next decade. You want to be building, not watching.
- You communicate with clarity. You can describe technical decisions to non-technical teammates. You can articulate: "We're going to build X, which increases efficiency by Y, because of Z."
- You push back with data. When the vision outpaces the resources, you say so—and you bring an alternative that achieves 80% of the outcome at 20% of the cost.
