Lead Data Scientist / Digitization Specialist – Global Data & Analytics (IT)

Summary
We are seeking a Lead Data Scientist / Digitization Specialist to design, develop, and support advanced analytical solutions that address complex business challenges through Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). This role is ideal for a highly motivated, self-directed professional who thrives in ambiguity and confidently partners with stakeholders at all levels to drive measurable business impact.
The ideal candidate has experience working with data domains commonly associated with the consumer goods industry, including point-of-sale systems, order-to-cash processes, finance, manufacturing SCADA, and MES data. This individual will also establish standards and best practices for MLOps and contribute to the organization’s broader data and analytics strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate business needs into scalable, value-driven analytical solutions.
- Design, implement, and support end-to-end digital solutions across diverse enterprise data sources.
- Apply advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI capabilities to improve operational performance and business outcomes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business teams, leadership, and IT partners.
- Adhere to enterprise IT architecture standards and contribute to their continuous improvement.
- Provide thought leadership in data science and analytics, guiding teams on emerging technologies and innovative solution approaches.
- Establish and promote standards and governance for MLOps practices.
Key Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in data wrangling and analytics using SQL, Python, and ML/AI technologies.
- Experience working with enterprise systems commonly used in consumer goods, retail, or manufacturing environments (e.g., ERP, CRM, SCADA, MES platforms).
- Demonstrated experience building and operationalizing ML/AI-driven solutions in real-world environments.
- Strong analytical skills, including conducting root cause analysis across internal and external data sources.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to engage global and local teams effectively.
- Experience deploying ML/AI and Business Intelligence solutions in hybrid cloud and on-premise environments within medium to large enterprises.
- Ability to bridge technical and business teams to deliver practical, scalable solutions.
Preferred Technical Experience
- ML/AI implementation on Snowflake and/or Microsoft Azure platforms.
- MLOps practices, including Azure DevOps.
- ETL tools and data integration technologies.
- Experience with Power BI (preferred but not required).
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical discipline.
- 4+ years of experience developing and supporting ML/AI analytical solutions within consumer goods, retail, and/or manufacturing environments.
