AI/ML Medical Imaging Manager

What You’ll Do:
Relate Search has partnered with an innovative surgical robotics organization in its search for an AI/ML Medical Imaging Manager to establish and lead its internal medical imaging AI/ML capability. This newly created role will define and execute the model development strategy across CT, MRI, and X-ray applications, owning the lifecycle from intake through deployment. The position blends hands-on technical execution with strategic leadership, guiding supplier relationships and setting scalable MLOps standards in a growing R&D environment.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and execute the AI/ML model development strategy for medical imaging applications (CT, MRI, X-ray).
- Own the complete lifecycle of medical imaging models including intake, training, validation, deployment, and optimization.
- Define and implement scalable MLOps processes and standards to support long-term growth.
- Provide strategic direction on technology selection, neural network and transformer-based model evaluation, and platform integration.
- Manage and guide external supplier teams while balancing hands-on technical contribution with strategic leadership.
Qualifications:
- 7–15 years of total experience with at least 7 years focused on AI/ML (depth of expertise prioritized over exact years).
- Medical imaging domain expertise including imaging pipelines, model development, repeatable models, and training optimization.
- Experience with GCP or AWS and cloud-based ML platforms such as Vertex AI or SageMaker.
- Strong knowledge of convolutional neural networks, transformer-based models, DICOM, and multiple ML frameworks.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with hands-on technical capability and experience driving strategy in fast-paced environments.
