About Glean
We’re on a mission to make knowledge work faster and more humane. We believe that AI will fundamentally transform how people work. In the future, everyone will work in tandem with expert AI assistants who find knowledge, create and synthesize information, and execute work. These assistants will free people up to focus on the higher-level, creative aspects of their work
We’re building a system of intelligence for every company in the world. On the surface, you can think of it as Google + ChatGPT for the enterprise. Under the hood, our platform is the connective tissue between AI and knowledge. It brings all of a company’s knowledge together, understands it at a deep level, provides industry-leading search relevance over it, and connects it to generative AI agents and applications
Glean was founded by a seasoned team of former Google search and Facebook engineers who saw a need in the enterprise space for their technical depth and passion for AI. We’re a diverse team of curious and creative people who want to help each other get big things done—so we can help other teams do the same.
We're backed by some of the Valley's leading venture capitalists—including Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, Lightspeed, and General Catalyst—and have assembled a world-class team with senior leadership experience at Google, Slack, Facebook, Dropbox, Rubrik, Uber, Intercom, Pinterest, Palantir, and others.
About the role:
Glean is building a world-class data organization spanning data science, applied science, data engineering, and business analytics. This role sits in our Core Product Data Science team role in Glean R&D. It’s located in Bangalore, India, where we have a major office contributing to Glean’s core R&D and GTM efforts.
At Glean, data scientists collaborate with engineering, product management and design to
- Define and build data assets, e.g. KPI definitions, data pipelines and dashboards, to measure the performance of AI-powered assistant products for knowledge workers. Glean Data science takes pride in spear-heading logging improvements to improve our nascent product telemetry, has deep craft in data modeling to make it easy to build several data products based on the same accurate source of truth, and builds effective visualizations to make cross-functional partners self-serve with their analytics.
- Once you establish resilient measurement foundations, selectively invest your time in a subset of your large product scope to identify opportunities to improve these KPIs, and influence cross functional teams to incorporate associated changes into their roadmaps. As you do that, you’ll create and maintain further quantitative frameworks and methodologies, e.g. bring more rigor into quantitative assessment of product-market-fit.
You’d be expected to work on a subset of the following domains most actively developed in our IND office
- Actions: Enabling Glean to get things done for users rather than answer questions, e.g. writing emails, writing to systems of context, shipping code.
- Structured Data: Enabling Glean to specialize further in data analysis.
- Agents: Enabling customers to build highly polished complex agents to solve top priority business problems with departmental/company-wide importance.
- Glean in 3rd party surfaces like Slack.
Minimum qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in a highly quantitative data science role, with a degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, and experience working with modern data stacks (e.g., dbt, analytics engineering pipelines)
- Experience analyzing nascent, complex datasets and translating them into clear, actionable insights
- A strong product and business mindset, with experience defining KPIs, guardrail metrics, and dashboards that influence decisions
- Solid grounding in statistics, including experimentation and non-experimental methods
- Ability to independently own projects end-to-end, from problem framing to delivery
- Clear, concise communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analyses to both technical and non-technical audiences
You are a particularly good fit if:
- You have experience in B2B SaaS, especially in the enterprise AI space.
- You have a very strong sense of ownership and self-motivation. You are laser-focused on delivering business impact while growing as an individual along with Glean.
- You are good at managing evolving priorities while successfully delivering core initiatives.
- You have experience working with collaborators across large time zone differences.
We are a diverse bunch of people and we want to continue to attract and retain a diverse range of people into our organization. We're committed to an inclusive and diverse company.
