The
AI Engineer Intern will be responsible for supporting the growing Exus data and AI initiatives. This intern will work closely with technical and operational teams to identify opportunities for artificial intelligence, evaluate existing data and document infrastructure, and assist in implementing solutions that enhance efficiency across the organization. This internship will require cross-departmental coordination to successfully complete the project assigned. Additional supporting tasks related to artificial intelligence, data, and documentation upkeep will be required. This role is a Summer 2026 intern project based out of our Pittsburgh, PA HQ office. This is a paid internship role. Anticipated duration will be approximately 8 weeks from June to August 2026. Duration, start and end dates are flexible to each candidate’s school schedule.
Essential Duties
- Assist in identifying, evaluating, and implementing AI-driven systems and automation opportunities across the Company.
- Recommend (and aid in the creation of) any tasks that can be automated.
- Assess current data infrastructure, document management workflows, and information architecture to determine readiness for AI adoption.
- Recommend improvements to data pipelines, storage, accessibility, and governance to enable scalable AI solutions
- Support the deployment and optimization of Microsoft M365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, and other AI tools to drive operational efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to document requirements, processes, and proposed enhancements.
- Help prototype and test AI and automation solutions that streamline internal workflows.
Experience And Education Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Sciences, Data Sciences, or other technically related field; Junior or above in Bachelor's degree program highly preferred.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, data structure, and modern productivity tools.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience in Python, Matlab, R, or other data analytical programming languages.
- Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
- SQL and API experience a plus.
- Native or strong proficiency in English, speaking and writing.
