The Opportunity
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will help scale Adobe’s business by delivering value through our global Adobe Unified Platform organisation.
Adobe Edinburgh's engineering centre builds and operates key technologies at the heart of Adobe’s $21 billion business. Our mission is to invent the technologies that allow our product leaders’ dreams to come true. We work to solve problems on a scale few other companies face.
We build high-availability and low maintenance services that play a critical role for Adobe customers, whether they be individuals or multinational enterprises.
An opportunity is available in Edinburgh for you to develop and lead all aspects of the offerings and solutions that support Adobe’s future vision. You will get the opportunity to collaborate with diverse teams from different departments within the company.
What you'll Do
- Mentor and guide a strong team of engineers, recruit and retain valuable team members
- Develop and assume accountability for crucial elements of the offerings and deliver them for production
- Brainstorm and prototype new concepts and approaches
- Review features, architecture, design, code, time & budget estimates, and test strategies
- Articulate the design and code choices to multi-functional teams
- Collaborate with product management and other engineering teams to create the technical vision, and road map for the team
- Drive multiple simultaneous projects, mitigate risks, solve problems, and deliver on time
- Develop and evolve engineering and business processes to optimise team efficiency
- Partner with other teams across Adobe for achieving common goals, specifically our Design and Program Management teams
- Learn new technologies/technical solutions
What you need to succeed
- 10+ years of software development experience on enterprise software
- Demonstrated track record of guiding engineers and projects within an agile setting
- Ardent desire to drive engineering excellence across teams
- Highly motivated, works well in a dynamic collaborative team environment
- Experience building, and maintaining high-scale, data intensive distributed systems
- Ability to lead complex projects and deliver solutions under time and resource pressure
- Deep understanding and hands on experience in Java (or similar)
- Phenomenal communication and collaboration skills
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience in engineering
