Research Associate / Scientist
Lyric Bio. Inc is a San Francisco Bay Area biotechnology company developing ultra-high density bioreactors to address supply limitations of donor-derived therapeutics. We are seeking a skilled cell biologist with experience culturing primary cells to join our team in the next 4 to 6 weeks. The ideal candidate will be meticulous, communicative, creative, and highly motivated. This role is best suited for someone with several years of experience culturing primary human cells who has a background in immunology and assay development. Interest or cross-functional experience in bioreactor development is highly desirable.
Key responsibilities:
● Primary cell culture, cell culture maintenance, and cell banking
● Basic protein purification and characterization
● Small bioreactor development, monitoring, and testing
● FACS analysis and a supportive or lead role in multiplexing assay development
● Record, analyze, and report experimental data and methods
● Develop and assist in the development of key protocols and assays
● Assist with lab organization, equipment maintenance, and inventory management
● Generation and presentation of publication-quality reports, figures, and analysis
● Collaborate to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks
● Enjoy being a team player in a small company environment
Qualifications:
● PhD, Masters with 4+ years of experience, or skilled B.S. with 2+ years of experience in relevant research areas
● Expertise with routine mammalian cell culture maintenance, including: aseptic technique, thawing, passaging, feeding, and cryopreservation
● Familiarity with or excitement to co-develop and test new bioreactor systems
● Basic understanding of antibody and protein purification using resins, quantitation, and introductory analytical techniques
● Excellent oral and written communication skills
● Strict adherence to, and respect for, good data collection and documentation practices
● Possess the confidence to identify problems early and ideate solutions
