VP/Senior Computer Vision Engineer
Location: Houston, TX (On-site, Full-time)
About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Computer Vision Engineer who is excited to work end-to-end — from low-level algorithm development and coding through to full system deployment in the field. You’ll help build advanced Visual Intelligence systems across a range of mission-critical and real-world applications, including ISR, ATR, ISTAR, medical imaging/scan systems, precision agriculture, and sports analysis.
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working close to the code, but also thinks in terms of complete systems, performance in the wild, and operational impact. A deep understanding of computer vision, detection, visual intelligence and data fusion is essential.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize computer vision and machine learning algorithms for real-time and offline applications.
- Build Visual Intelligence applications that integrate data from multiple sensors and modalities.
- Research and evaluate state-of-the-art methods in computer vision, pattern recognition, and data fusion; prototype and transition successful approaches into production systems.
- Architect, implement, and test end-to-end vision pipelines, from data ingestion and preprocessing to inference and deployment.
- Integrate vision and perception capabilities into robotics, ISR/ISTAR platforms, and other operational systems.
- Analyze large and complex datasets to derive actionable insights and improve system robustness and accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (systems, hardware, product, operations) to define requirements, debug issues, and scale deployments.
Required Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in computer vision and pattern recognition techniques (e.g., detection, tracking, segmentation, 3D vision).
- Fluent in building Visual Intelligence applications using data from cameras, sensors, and other sources.
- Solid foundation in robotics and/or core computer science principles (data structures, algorithms, optimization).
- Experience in data-driven development: data analysis, algorithm development, model evaluation, and iteration.
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or similar languages.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills; comfortable debugging complex, multi-component systems.
- Familiarity with common computer vision and ML frameworks (e.g., OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow, CUDA, ROS, etc.).
Preferred Experience
- Experience developing and deploying CV systems for one or more of the following domains:
- ISR, ATR, and ISTAR platforms
- Medical imaging / scan systems
- Precision agriculture
- Sports analytics and performance analysis
- Experience deploying and optimizing vision algorithms on real-world industrial, defense, or robotics systems (edge devices, embedded platforms, or constrained compute environments).
- Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Data Science, Robotics, or a related field.
- If you’re passionate about advanced computer vision, Visual Intelligence, and building systems that operate in demanding real-world environments, we’d love to talk.
