Job Type: Full-Time
As an AI Engineer at Straiker, you will play a key role in developing, fine-tuning, and deploying advanced AI models. This includes fine tuning LLMs to provide guard rails and other mechanisms that enable safety and security. You may also assist and contribute to adversarial LLM red teaming, developing tools and procedures as well as using AI to find security and safety vulnerabilities in GenAI applications. The ideal candidate has a strong background in machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing, with hands-on experience in fine-tuning large models for various applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Preparation: Work with large datasets to prepare and preprocess data for model training and fine-tuning.
- Fine-Tuning & Optimization: Implement fine-tuning techniques to adapt pre-trained LLM models to new tasks and domains, ensuring high performance and accuracy.
- Integration & Deployment: Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate AI models into existing systems and deploy them in production environments.
- SW Skillset/Backend Development: While not the primary role, responsibilities/contributions include: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs using Python/Golang, ensuring they meet project and performance requirements.
- Research & Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in AI, LLMs, and fine-tuning techniques, and apply them to improve existing solutions.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate model performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize for speed and scalability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to understand project goals and deliver AI solutions that drive business value.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, or deep learning, with a focus on NLP and LLMs. 2+ years may be sufficient with a PhD.
- Proven experience in fine-tuning and deploying Large Language Models (e.g., GPT, BERT, T5) for various applications.
- Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
- Experience with data preprocessing, model evaluation, and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and MLOps practices is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in applied research or contributions to open-source projects in the AI/ML domain.
- Familiarity with reinforcement learning, transfer learning, or other advanced machine learning techniques.
- Knowledge of distributed computing and large-scale model training.
