This is an in-person role based in Memphis, Tennessee and will require about 20% travel.
Responsibilities
- Work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company project
- Manage the delivery of network infrastructure projects from inception through delivery
- Assist upstream planning and acquisition teams in developing infrastructure requirements, priorities, and delivery date expectations
- Serve as primary contact for engineering teams and escalate engineering management chains when delivery timelines are at risk
- Lead project status meetings while keeping downstream teams at xAI aware of project and delivery statuses
- Oversee all documentation, test results, and technical drawings while working with vendors and xAI staff to coordinate record keeping and communication
- Ensure a safe and productive work environment
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or 7+ years of experience working in program management ideally in large scale Tier 3 or 4 facilities
- 5+ years of experience working in program management
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with network planning and engineering
- Experience in vendor management in the telecommunications/network industry
- Knowledgeable of different fiber types
- Experience installing, certifying, and troubleshooting fiber in hyperscale data center environments
- Experience installing structured cabling
- Highly proficient using a light meter, OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer), OPMs (optical power meter), fiber certifier, loopback, and optical probes
- Able to understand different types of switches and port identifications
- Able to properly clean fiber and validate cleanliness
- Ability to use judgment and analytical skills in complex installations
- Ability to prioritize and use time management practices as well as prioritize tasks based on fluctuating needs
- Ability to adapt, make decisions, problem solve, and collaborate efficiently under pressure
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, Teams, Project, etc)
