Saccharo AI builds human-centric AI workflows to help organizations capture more large-scale sales opportunities. We aim to be the go-to sales enablement tool for RFP response, from discovery to fulfillment. An RFP (Request for Proposal) is a process for buyers to invite vendors to solve a specific business need. They are complex and time-consuming applications that have account for 20-30% of contracts in key industries (e.g., foodservice, construction, IT services).

The RFP‑software market has already topped $1.5 billion and is on track to more than double this decade, underscoring a once‑in‑a‑generation chance to modernize how proposals are won. We’ve closed our angel round, have launched initial pilot programs with customers, and are scaling quickly towards a general release.

What we are looking for

We’re looking for an experienced AI engineer to extend our ingestion pipelines, optimize retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, and train agentic LLMs that help decision makers uncover new opportunities.

The ideal candidate brings a startup mindset— resourceful, pragmatic and self motivated—along with a strong track record with data extraction and RAG. This is an in-person role in our NYC office, where you will be working across the stack and take ownership of core parts of the codebase.

What you’ll do

Build & maintain data pipelines for ingestion, cleaning, and embedding of unstructured proposal content
Prototype, fine‑tune, and evaluate open‑weight LLMs; implement retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) for grounded answers
Deploy models behind scalable APIs and monitor latency, cost, and drift
Embed responsible‑AI controls (e.g., privacy, transparency, bias checks)
Collaborate cross‑functionally with product, sales, and customer SMEs to translate user pain points into ML‑powered features
Mentor team members on best practices; contribute to engineering playbooks and code review rituals

Who you are

Experience implementing RAG from scratch and/or 0-1 Development
Python is your main coding language; 3+ years of experience with deployment
Hands‑on experience with cloud infra (CI/CD) and vector databases (Pinecone)
Track record shipping ML models from experiment to prod; LLM or NLP domain preferred
Strong written communication; able to document experiments
Bias toward action, low ego, and eagerness to work shoulder‑to‑shoulder with the leadership team
Things that could set you apart:
Proficiency with Typescript
Experience with OCR/VLMs, Vector DB solutions, and CI/CD
Higher Education / Certificates in AI Development

Where you’ll work

We will consider both fully remote candidates and those within commuting distance of our NYC headquarters who would have hybrid, flexible work arrangements.

Compensation

Salary: $140-$150k
Equity: 1-2% equity, 4-year standard vesting
