Quantum Improvements Consulting (QIC) is a dynamic and innovative company dedicated to creating cutting-edge human performance support solutions that revolutionize how people train and learn. We’re seeking an AI Platform Engineer to design and maintain the core infrastructure behind our intelligent systems, from well-typed schemas and evaluation pipelines to retrieval and tracing frameworks that ensure reliability and trust. You’ll be hands-on in building the backbone of our agentic and data-driven workflows, working closely with product and engineering teams to bring structure, quality, and rigor to every layer of our AI platform. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on precision, system design, and making complex AI architectures both scalable and maintainable.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Define/maintain JSON/Pydantic schemas for tools, tasks, and RAG nodes with clear versioning/migrations.
Build a schema registry and CI gatekeeping for contract changes.
Standardize LlamaIndex metadata (provenance, chunking, embedding params).
Add tracing/metrics for contract compliance and failures.
Create an evaluation harness and golden datasets for the A→B→C→D workflow.
Partner with PMs/engineers to model new features and reduce ambiguity.

Qualifications:

3-4+ years in backend/ML platform; shipped typed APIs and data models at scale.
Deep Python, Pydantic v2, typing, test culture; Langroid/LlamaIndex or similar.
Experience with vector stores and retrieval quality measurement.
Pragmatic approach to schema evolution and developer experience.

Work Environment:

The majority (90%) of this position is situated in a typical office environment and includes the use of a computer (6-8 hours per day), telephone, and web-based video communications.

Travel:

The AI Platform Engineer may travel up to 10% of working hours per month for the following purposes:

Product support
Team and organizational meetings (if remote)
