Data Scientist, MFL Robotics

Due to our rapid growth, Intero Integrity Services is hiring for a new Data Scientist, MFL Robotics, in our Houston, Texas location.

Position Summary

Reporting to Global Software Manager, this role involves developing and maintaining analytical models for anomaly detection, sizing, and classification, as well as creating Unity plots and technical reports in accordance with API 1163 standards. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal teams including R&D, Engineering, Data Analysis, and Sales - to drive continuous improvement in tool performance, data interpretation, and client deliverables.

Responsibilities

Analyze and incorporate client pipeline dig results into sizing curves, prepare technical reports on findings.
Create and maintain Unity plots as per API 1163 for all data collected.
Collaborate with R&D to maintain and improve pipeline inspection tool specifications.
Create/update models for detection, sizing, and classification of pipeline anomalies.
Collaborate with stakeholders from engineering, data analysis, sales on priorities and plans.
Participate in hardware/software development activities and influence design direction where relevant.
Generate improvement proposals based on data and guide data driven decision making with stakeholders.
Maintain market awareness of pipeline inspection trends, advancements and/or new technologies, challenge status quo.
Bridge gaps between results and expectations, attend client meetings, prepare and present findings.

What you should bring to the team:

Experience

5+ years of MFL data science experience in the pipeline inspection industry, including knowledge of relevant standards API 1163 etc.
Analytical skills with ability to connect obstacles and opportunities, in a cross functional environment, to business needs.
Knowledge of relevant languages (python, etc) and experience with algorithm development.
Experience with machine learning.
Working knowledge of MFL sensor systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skill.

Considered Assets:

Experience with embedded product development in inline inspection or other industries.

Education

Minimum of Master’s degree in Data Science or equivalent.
